Physical Plant has its base operation located at 285 Ainsley Drive, and is distributed throughout the campus through maintenance Zones. Physical Plant is responsible for maintenance to academic, administrative, athletic facilities and fields, grounds, and landscaping. There is also a construction group that works on small to medium projects.

Physical Plant is part of Business & Facilities Maintenance Services (BFMS) under the direction of Allan Breese, Director. It is part of the larger Business, Finance and Administrative Service (BFAS) organization reporting to Louis G. Marcoccia, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Maintenance of specialized department-owned equipment, e.g., research instrumentation, computer systems, etc., are the responsibility of the accountable department. The Physical Plant department operates zone offices for routine service to areas of the campus. The zone offices serve as the primary point of contact for all facilities services.
